I've cooked many variety of meat from beef, deer, pork and liver with this simple recipe.
INGREDIENTS
3 tablespoons cornstarch, divided
1⁄2 cup water
2 tablespoons water, divided
1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder/ minced garlic
1 lb boneless meat/ steak sliced thinly
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 cups broccoli florets
1 small onion, cut into wedges
1⁄3 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1⁄2 teaspoon salt (to taste)
HOW TO
In a bowl, mix together 2 TBSP cornstarch, 2 TBSP water and garlic powder. Add beef and mix well
In another bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, the remaining 1 TBSP cornstarch and 1/2 cup water.
In a large skillet stir-fry beef with 1 tablespoon oil for about 3-4 minutes on a medium-high heat. Remove and set aside.
Toss the onion in remaining oil for 4-5 minutes until softened. Add broccoli and cook for 3 minutes until tender but still crispy. Add your beef into the pan.
Cook and stir for another 2 minutes.
SERVING IDEAS
For my husband, I served it over steamed rice top with sesame seeds and green onions.
For myself, I sprinkle a couple of chopped Thai peppers to heat it up a lot. If you like a little bit to medium heat, you can add cayenne pepper or pepper flakes.
